Kidsgrove Town Council is looking to recruit an assistant Clerk working 16 hours per week. The role will involve some weekday mornings working in the council’s offices in the Town Hall, but offers a degree of flexibility to suit both the Council’s business needs and those of the successful applicant.

PART-TIME ASSISTANT TO THE CLERK

 Starting Salary Range SPC 7 – 13 (£20,092 to £22,627) pro-rata.

16 hours per week

Kidsgrove Town Council is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and diligent part-time Assistant to the Clerk to support the work of our Town Council Office at the Victoria Hall, Kidsgrove. The hours are 16 hours a week to be worked flexibly to suit the business needs. The ability to be able to work some mornings will be necessary.

This is a varied role assisting the Clerk with administrative duties which include, but are not limited to, preparation of minutes and agendas, the Council’s finance management and helping to maintain the council’s Facebook page and website. The successful applicant will also assist with organisation of Council events and Victoria Hall management. Full training will be provided.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and IT skills and the flexibility to deal with a variety of situations and tasks. The ability to work under pressure and be able to prioritise your own workload is essential. You will need to be able to work as part of a team but must also have the ability to work on your own initiative when required.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail as strict deadlines have to be met.
