Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – Lighting of the Beacons

On Thursday 2nd June 2022, we will be joining in with the rest of the UK and Commonwealth Nations in celebrating Queen Elizabeth II becoming the first British Sovereign to reach the historic milestone of 70 years as reigning Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth.




KIDSGROVE CENTRE
Kidsgrove Town Council, working with Go Kidsgrove, will be lighting a beacon in the centre of Kidsgrove as part of a national network of beacons. We thank Home Bargains for the use of their carpark to allow this to happen. If anyone would like to come along, please arrive in the centre of Kidsgrove by 9:30pm. The beacon will be lit by the Town Mayor at 9:45pm.
Please note that the Home Bargains carpark will not be available to park on during this event as it will be used by spectators as well as the beacon itself but the other carparks will be open. Can we ask that those that are able to, walk to the event to. Thank you




The Town Council is pleased to inform you that we have received permission to light a beacon on Coal Pit Hill. The beacon will form part of the national network of beacons to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and will be lit at 9:45pm tomorrow evening (Thursday 2nd June 2022).
If anyone wants to come along to watch the beacon being lit, please can you arrive at Coal Pit Hill at around 9:15 to 9:30 pm. Can we ask that those that can walk do so to prevent parking problems. Thank you.
